I have 2 Sprinters, oops 1 Sprinter, I traded one in on a straight truck as I have had to replace 2 alternators on one and 1 alternator on the other, several wiring harnesses and service modules in the past, my only Sprinter does much better with repair than the one I traded in. I got rid of 1 after it cost me $3000 in repairs in 2 weeks and I was not able to do any business in those 2 weeks. One could say it might be ther repairman but they were all Chrysler Sprinter qualified mechanics. I wish I could have gotten some help from Chrysler on this. And I'll trade the second one in if it gives me any more problems. Then maybe profits would be more positive. I pretty much think that Sprinters are not worth the money that you need to keep putting into them, if at all.

Yes magnesum chloride contamination corrodes the body where the diode pack is mounted causing lower power output than rated.
I usually tear them down and clean the base plate /diode pack contact pads to restore the output.
