    Default No Power

So I was driving the other day, and all of a sudden I loose power. It will maintain a speed on flat ground, but going up hills there is no power.

A co-worker said something similar happened to him, and they ended up changing the EGR valve, under recall and it was fixed.

Is this the limp home thing I was reading about? How come no warning lights or check engine?

Sorry for the delay, it is an 04.

It went to the dealer, and they said it was the resonator, but they were not sure why the check engine light never came on....

I have had the exact same problem on my '04 up here in Maine, losing power for a trip occasionally but ONLY in cold weather. I had my Sprinter plugged into the authorized Sprinter computer and they POSITIVELY diagnosed the problem as a turbo-charger "waste gate" malfunction (as in waste air exiting the turbo-charger). While it is fixable for big bucks, I have chosen NOT to fix it and everything has been fine for two years...except for once a month or so, for just one trip. John James, Maine
