Default HELP! STRANDED!! BROKEN DOWN NEAR TAFT (BAKERSFIELD) CA

Can anyone recommend a good repair source near Taft (Bakersfield) CA?

I have a 2004 Sprinter which all of a sudden will not go faster than 40 MPH and basically has no power at all. Prior to this it ran great. It has about 80K miles with excellent maintenance and no problems to this point. I am on the road and am unable to complete the trip until I get it repaired. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally made it back to town. I took it to Frahm Dodge in Norco CA (good people) and the problem was a cracked plastic resonator box, downstream of the turbo which triggered the computer into "limp home mode". This is a common problem and there have been various upgrades to the part and even the aftermarket people are making an aluminum unit ($135) to replace the original plastic unit. It is rather easy to get at from under the vehicle but requires a 12 point metric socket.

Attached is a national list of Dodge dealers that may come in handy when on the road, though not all of them are authorized to work on the Sprinter vans.

    Hope this helps.

When mine went I also had no power for the hills...but it would eventually get up to speed by feathering the pedal....Also when I pulled over and shut the engine down it would reset and be fine for about 5-10 minutes and kick out again....

The RV's have the most problem with the resonator...they are so heavy that the boost pressure going up hills gets so high it blows out.....

Thanks for the link...I had that but lost my bookmarks somehow...internet ghosts.
