ignition problem
I am having trouble with a 2002 F.L. There is a control module that is part of the anti theft system that has gone bad. Apparently there are not replacement parts available and the dealer is waiting for the vendor of this part to remanufacture one. Then the dealer sends the bad one in and it is then re-built for the next poor slob. Has anyone experienced this? Does this seem like a good way to service a vehicle? The part has been ordered for 1 1/2 weeks and still no sign of the part.

ignition problem
I doubt you see your van again for at least 2 weeks. Mine was finally fixed after almost 3 weeks. I have since sold the 2002 FL. I am now driving a 2004 Dodge almost 50K so I expect starting problems any day now. To anyone interested. If you have problems starting, but repeated trys are finally sucessful. This is the time to drive your sprinter to the dealership. If you wait one day it will not start no matter what you try. This mistake cost me almost $100 in towing.

It would not start, but would eventually start if we kept removing the key and trying again. This was accompanied by a message in the odometer location. I don't remember what the message was. Something related to security. This got steadily worse until one day it failed to start no matter how many times we tried.

Are you referring to the WSP module? I know we have done a few of these here in my shop ( mostly the ones with the remote keys sales code JPB power locks). We never had to send one out tho to be rebuilt. I am not sure if it is the same without the JPB sales code, but 2 weeks seems like a long time. Plus I think they are coming out of Detroit now, at least the newer ones are. Just make sure they get you the right one.
