Rear door hinges

Has anyone else experienced this? First time we opened the back doors, paint peeled off each hinge in two places. The places are round areas opposed to where the set screws are located so I am wondering if the screws are adjusted incorrectly. Those areas are now rusting a little. This was direct from the factory.

I don't think you can get away from that happening. What I did was use a good synthetic teflon oil and they stay relatively rust free. Every Sprinter I have seen has the same problem.

Thanks, now that I have seen a few more of them on the road, it appears to be a standard feature. For a vehicle that has so much else going for it you would think they would address this.

Please remember, paint issues or such are still covered in a factory
warranty. don't hesitate to return to a responsible dealer that
is authorized to perform service on Sprinters, and make a service
claim. The more that go on record, the more the people in Auburn Hills will sit up straight in their chairs at the meetings and begin to address this issue.
