RPM question
I just got a brand new Dodge Sprinter van 2500 the tallest longest one they make, it has a diesel engine in it. It has just over 1000 miles on it. A few days ago I noticed that when I went to take off it wouldn't shift it just went up to the 4000 rpm redline and i had to shake the stick and let off the gas a little bit to get it to shift. It has done that a few times now, but not all the time. My question is what RPM should the van be at when I'm doing about 75 mph? Mine is running just a little bit over 3000 and that seemed kind of high to me but I never paid attention to what it used to be at before the non shifting incident.
