    Default sprinter shut down

Our 04' Frieightliner Sprinter 2500SHC 140" sporadically shuts down while driving. It first happened the very 1st day we got it. The dealer replaced some electrical cabling. The problem never went away. The servicing dealers nor the travelling sprinter technician has been able to solve the problem.

While we really like the vehicle we are afraid to have our men drive it. It is a ticking timebomb and has been taken out of service from our fleet.

Does anyone have a solution other than a new EGR valave.

    Default sprinter shut down

I also have a 2004 frieghtliner had sproblem where it would shut down and restart after 5 min or so, go 25-50 miles and shut down again. My problem ended up being glow plug relay. if you have a bad 1 , I would recommend changing all 5 or it seams they start going bad everyother week. hope that helps

Yes, maybe i can help, does the van start right back up and does it just crank over and not start after it stalls? also do you hear the engine cooling fan running after it stalls( with key on). if so the ecm has lost its ground signal. You could also have a bad crank sensor going bad when it gets hot. I have actually seen this happen before.

    Default Sprinter shuts down

My Sprinter starts right up after shutting down. Since you posted your reply it hasn't happened. I asked some of the other drivers if they remember the fan running and most of us think that is the case.

I will print your message at take it to the servicing dealer.

    Thanks,

    Todd
