The fuel circuit in your 2007 is like this:
tank - in-electric-tank-pump - fuel lines to the fuel filter - fuel filter inlet - fuel filter outlet - outlet hose to the high pressure injection pump - high pressure fuel injection pump - line out to common rail - high pressure supply to the injectors - leak oil return line - then lines back to the tank.
The injectors do not use all the fuel supplied by the high pressure pump.
Some fuel is then both warmed by its proximity to the engine and returned to the tank via a low pressure line that MB calls the "leak oil line."
I'd clean the areas around the outflow and return lines under the cab, find the leaking line and repair it. Be mindful that the in tank pump can reach 200 litres and hour at more than 50 psi. I'm not sure what the pressure is on the return lines to the tank from the "leak oil line."
