Brake squeal
Just looking for some advise here:
'08 Sprinter purchased new in June '09 currently 7000+ miles.
At 4000 miles while at the dealer for an unscheduled service, I inquired about what I thought to be too much brake squeal and was told "That was just the nature of the vehicle"
At 7000 miles I took it back to the dealer as the squeal was becoming more and more prominant. I was advised that all was well, the new brake pad compound was at fault and there was nothing they could do about it.
Immediately after their brake inspection it became WORSE. It is unacceptably and embarrasingly loud, what are my options?
TIA

Well it certainly is not normal. If the dealer will not do anything about it you will have to buy some aftermarket brake pads and change them yourself.
There is nothing all that difficult about changing the Sprinter pads except determining which version you have. Take it to your local auto parts store and let them figure out what you need.

Brake squeal
My 08 has 15000 miles and has the same annoying squeal since about 5000 miles
I think it will go away whenever the pads are changed
Do you have any steering issues?

OK, an update then...
Nothing's changed. 15,000 miles now and the squeal is still there. It often goes away under very heavy or very light pedal pressure so I often alter my braking habits so I don't have to listen to it.
No steering or mechanical issues, just one burned headlamp since last scheduled service.

280,000 miles. I just replaced pads and rotors on all four corners of my van for the first time. I thought I was getting great pad wear but overlooked how much rotor wear there was. My van has squealed like a pig for the most of three years. On this brake job the mechanic soaked the pads in some sort of brake pad fluid. They squeaked a while, but have quieted down. Time willl tell. Keep and eye on rotor wear.

I just bought a brand new sprinter passenger van, the front brake already squealed. Plus other minor bad things, I really doubt sprinter van quality.
