Mercedes Benz of Westminster (Westminster Colorado) Dealership Problems

Hello Sprinter Van Owners


I just wanted to start a thread concerning issues that I'm having with my local Mercedes Benz dealer ship.


I just purchased a brand new 2011 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van 2500 170" and I'm in love with the van but the relation ship with the my local dealer (Mercedes Benz of Westminster, Westminster Colorado may be on the rocks.


I have had the van just two week and have only driven it to work and back (360 Miles to date) and have been very careful about where I have parked and how I have driven it.


I discovered that the plastic bumper is damaged on the lower portion and when removing the the license plate holder I discovered that two mounting bolts had broke through the plastic bumper leaving the bumper not as well secured as it should be.


The salesman Chris at Mercedes has tried to be helpful but management is leaning toward possibly not doing anything about the problem and at this point Chris is going to the man at the top in the dealership (I will fill in full names as I get them). I'm to hear from Chris later today on what the resolution is.


Now I understand the dealerships point of view that they don't know of the treatment of the vehicle since it has left the lot so that is a strike against me, but how is a buyer to know if something is damaged if it is something that is not apparent. I have learned a valuable lesson here and will look over purchase with a fine tooth comb. I put to much in the dealership and I know may be paying for my mistakes.
