Anyone Looking for Better Gas Mileage?
Has anyone here had their computer reprogrammed for better gas mileage or had a chip installed? Silver Star Transmission in Edmond, OK is offering a free trial to update the original computer for better gas mileage. If you are in or around the Oklahoma City metro area and are interested in trying this out call us at 405.330.9300 or e-mail us at sstrans2@coxinet.net. We are looking for a sprinter owner who is willing to keep accurate mileage records and report back to us in exchange for the programming. Although this is a new program to the United States it has been used in the UK for about 17 years and we are looking for someone who would be willing to be our guinea pig. However, this is non-invasive and there is no chance of adverse effects. This program is worth over $700 but we would give it free to someone willing to track their mileage. Thank you!

Re: Anyone Looking for Better Gas Mileage?
I'd be happy to be your guinea pig but I'm just now in the process of ordering an 07 passenger van and don't expect to get it for about 5 months. If you still need someone by late summer write me. 2alaskans@gmail.com

I have a 2007 2500 Sprinter... I have been getting 24-26 mpg, no problem. The key is during the first 1,000 miles or so, drive very aggressively, accelerate rapidly and tow as much weight as possible... This allows the engine to be broken in at a much faster rate. Make sure you "floor it" as you take off from the stop lights... again, 25 mpg no problem.
