what is a reasonable price for a new '06?

hello everyone:
this is my first post. i stumbled on this site while googling for sprinter info. i have been looking at sprinters for around 6-9 months and am now readied to put down the money. i have seen the '07 and its price seems a little high for my pocketbook (i am expecting a sixth child in june). however the dealer still has few brand new '06s on the lot.
the problem is that i can't seem to find any info on the invoice prices on '06 now that the '07 is out. edmunds.com and kbb.com only configure price on a used '06. the one i am looking at is msrp-ed at around $40k and kbb and edmunds said it should go for around $30k with 'zero' mile and similar options. of course they priced it as 'used.'
anyway, how much do you think a $40k '06 sprinter should go for these days? thanks and i am looking forward to actively participate in this community.

I purchased an '06 about 6 weeks ago. It had 300 miles on it. Every dealer was ready to drop $3K off the sticker price. I found one that would drop $4K, so I jumped on it. I had heard the 07 would be quite pricey & it would not be as fuel efficient because of the larger engine. My 2500 standard roof cargo cost me $30,000. I added rear windows for $400.
My step son used to sell cars & he tells me that the dealers have about half the profit margin on Sprinters v.s domestic vehicles & that I most likely got my van for $500 under the actual invoice. This dealer had 40 Sprinters left over & they could have been desperate, but I don't know for sure.

thanks stevet. may i ask where did you purchase your sprinter? and do they have lots of regular roof 140" passenger models with cooling group?

I live in the Houston, Texas area. The dealership I bought mine at still has 5 passenger vans like you describe, all for 39K. I think the website above will get you in.
