It kinda sounds like it. I know we stress here to have your maintenance up to date and preformed by someone certified to do But they do that because of all the problems that can go wrong with the vans when they are either not maintained or improperly maintained. They sure could have worded that much better..

    Thanks Eric,
I think I'll take the advice I read so much on the forums. I will save my receipts & document any servicing I do to my own van. I come from a mechanics family, so I'll defininately do my own oil changes & such, but I certainly better cover my rear, just in case.
Recently, I purchased a service transmission dipstick because I wanted to check my level. (I superglue the locking tab back on & then slide it back on the cap when done) I checked it on level ground, cold & at 80C & the level was perfect. I thought that it would be low because I have a little rumblestrip 1st thing in the morning at about 20 mph. It goes away after that, so maybe it isn't worth messing with?

As far as I can see if its goes away after it makes it initial appearance first thing in the morning then I wouldn't worry about it. If your still under warranty you can have the dealer check it out but I checked with my techs here and they said thats common

My dad had the same problem with his Lincoln & he put in some type of additive that took care of the problem. I wouldn't dare add anything to my tranny (plus, I would have to take some fluid out just to add something else) while under warranty. Seems too risky to me.
BTW, I sure hope others start joining in at this forum again. Sprintervan_Problems shut down recently. They had some great archives, too.

    Default ATF FLUIDS

Putting in Synthetic after market ATF fluids will help to solve many an issue you guys are having with the rubble shake and roll trip
Depending on how long your trips are as to heat bulidup in the trans the fluids lose lubricity resulting in slippage or shifting up and down becoming too erratic etc,

I guess I would still have to wait 30K miles until my warranty runs out before I change over to Synthetic, or Dodge might blame any future problems on my using the new fluid?

Steve you can use this now try to goggle Red line RL2 Upper cylinder Diesel ignition lubricant
Have not worked out how to drop a link in as this format is sort of like windows 95
Richard it will clean up fuel very quick and protect fuel lines EGR system valves and injectors clean piston crowns and bore fuel pumps will also stay cleaner and it will help to keep Turbo resonator and turbo seals from failing
Ask your dealer is it OK to break the seal on the trans and check levels, or do it yourself after market dip sticks for the trans can be sourced in the US too this way you can keep an eye on the transmission levels

I'm serious about this it works, too many issues with the Dodge boys saying we know nothing and your stuck in the middle of no where.
If you put in a fluid that mets or exceeds the specs of mopar then you have maintained the vehicle to specifications and or beyond the recommendations.

    Thanks Richard,
I already have a service dipstick. I superglue the locking tab back on the stem everytime I check the fluid. The ATF level is as full as I can get without being overfilled. I will check into the red line (you didn't mean that I should put it in my trans did you?). I have been using Marvel oil in my fuel, but I have been wanting to try Lucas, or something else. I'll give red line a shot.

    Steve My mistake
No not the redline upper cylinder lub but they have excellent ATF fluids as does amsoil too basically they are A Synthetic and B have a higher temp rating to keep the lubricity running at peak performance which does help to avoid slippage or sticking at lower rpm ranges, sticking the tabs back with super glue
