Couple of standard roof-height questions
Hi. I have been looking at sprinters for a few years, and may be in a position to get one as a company van soon.
The main (only) issue I can see here is that I don't know if one will fit in my garage. At the lowest point, my entry is 96" I don't recall the standard roof height of either gen1 or gen2 sprinters, but I think 1 was a few inches under, 2 about the same.
Of course, the measurements the factory provides are for an unloaded van. With an additional 500 - 1000lbs of equipment, how much "sag" would I get out of the suspension? If anyone has a similarly loaded van, could you give it a quick meausre?
Also, on the '07 options sheet I think I saw something like a lower suspension option, but i can't seem to find it. Does anyone know more about this option?
Wish I had a slightly smaller choice here. Used to have a VW Eurovan, and it was the perfect size for me. A new T5 with tdi would be perfect for my garage space, but VW North America won't let me have one.
Thanks.
Tom

94.7" for a 2006 stardard roof & 96.3" for a 2007. The antenae rises even above that & I don't know how flexable it is.

THose are the unloaded heights, correct? I am wondering what about 1000 lbs of tools and equipment (or sandbags if i need 'em) will drop the van to. I'm not thinking much here, but all of my tools loaded in my VW EV dropped it more than an inch. If thats the case with the sprinter, I can fit an older one in the garage no problem. Might have to move the antenna though.
