    Default Big Sprinter Problems

My 04 Sprinter 2500 has 77K. It has had trans issues and now the dash warning lights for Brakes, abs, traction control, low pads came on all at the same time. (the door locks also failed to work correctly at the same moment) You could start it but not put it in gear. I pulled all 4 wheels and my brakepads were fine. My brake fluid was topped off as well. My dealer told me how to release the shifter and I had to drive it to the dealership in 1st gear due to it refused to shift no matter what I did to the shift lever. They initally said it was the trans. control module which would cost me $780. I called Chrysler and got no help. The module came in and it did not fix the problem.
Chrysler then told them it was the master control for the brake system and they will not help me either on that issue. This will cost $2800. I have no choice but fix it. It has been at the dealer now for 12 days and I have had to rent a van to do my business.
Has anyone else had this problem?

    Simple question
You have a 2500 series Sprinter.
Which length ! and which wheel base single or dual rear wheels, with front wide hub or single standard hub. How much weight are you hauling.

My Van is extended wheel base and single rear axles. I carry about 800lbs normally. Never over 1200lbs.

Just double checking so there is no confusion.
800Lbs to 1.200Lbs is this correct?
Or did you mean 8000 Lbs !
If your carrying 1.200 correct weight 1/2 metric ton then your OK.
I think your problem is a failed ecu set of computer codes .
This means a simple reset to bring it back into it's normal operating mode.
As an example If a code or set of codes show on your dash indicating a fault , the system will lock down to limp home mode, of which a set of codes will shows as possible faults via the DRB 111 scanner! If the tech knows how to reset them , of course.
For brakes to show a fault via the ESP control module with a trans locking into first gear, door locks shutting indicates a faulty transmission sensor, or oxygen sensor, It appears there is nothing wrong with your vehicle apart from the given post No dealer tech can work out what was wrong with it, so assumed X=Unknown was the possible culprit, which as it turned out was not, so another part is considered to be at fault.
If I have read your post correctly, you need to take this to another dealer for a diagnostic check to compare if the analysis is correct. fuel sensors can also shut down the Ecu control unit , as can the EGR valve , are you using quality fuel or the cheapest you can get your handle on too , High sulphur content fuels will create problems and failures as a result of the wrong fuels and engine oils. There is a pawl valve in the trans that can lock a trans down., but this is extremely rare.
PS when was the last time you checked the trans fluid and when was it last changed , fluid level is important as is changing the ATF fluids regularly.
