Turbo failure
I took deliery of a new Srinter315 in November2008. Within 2 monthes it started to suffer turbo failure and swith to 'home safe mode', to get it running again you have to turn it iff and then re-start it. It has been back to the dealer 13 times for this fault and they can't fix it. The last time it went wrong it stopped all together and had to be recoverd.
It has had both turbo's replaced twice and the exhaust replace twice plus numerus other parts. The warrenty bill comes to over £4000.00 upto now.
The dealership will not replace or refund the cost of the vehicle so I have filed court action against them.
Mercedez are fully aware of the problem but wil not acknowledge it. I spoke to a courier in paris recentley, his company bought 3, 315's and the all had the same fault, his local dealership replaced them.
I guess it is cheaper for Mercedes to fight individual court cases than do a complete recal.
