Thumbs up Saved alot of money on repair

Just went through a big ordeal trying to solve one of those pocketbook busting repairs on a 2008 sprinter i use for work. Wow the dealer told me about 4200.00 to replace my diesel particulate filter .( 4200.00 to do what???? Are you kidding??? ) thought he was trying to get me to pay his mortgage or light bill . Wow!!!!! But he wasn't, that was about the right price ( after i checked around ). Still that was a great amount of money and i needed my van. After searching the internet for about a half hour i found all kinds of places that had new filters, i found a company that cleanes them.i called them up and talked to the owners wife for about 20 minutes and she explained to me how they clean sprinter filters in some kind of high temperature oven overnite and how they do all kinds of other filters and gave me some references of satisfied customers mainly fed-ex vans so i got my mechanic to take the filter off and u.p.s. Packaged it up and they sent me an e=mail they received it, then an e-mail it had finished its first process, then an e=mail that it was being put into the oven, then an e-mail that it was done and how did i want it shipped back. Now my mechanic had taken the filter off on a thursday and and they received it friday morning worked on it and got it ready to come back to me saturday around 4:30 and i had it back monday morning 10:30 for my mechanic to put back on not to bad because i dont use my van on the weekends anyway. So if you need to save about 3 months of mortgage payments on your house the womans name was a hattie-jane at a company called "dpfregeneration.com " 1-800-634-3010 and it cost me 300.00 to get them to clean my dpf and about 62.00 in ups freight. I had to share this with you i know i was shocked to get told 4200.00 from a dealer i now will not go back to when its time to replace my current sprinter some day. Wow 4200.00 oh yeah that was about 4 months ago and still going with no problem and when i talked to the husband he told me it will last as long as it did before i started having trouble. Another 187,000 miles well ok!!!!! If it lasts that long i'll gladly let them do the job again and save another boatload of cash. P.s. The wifes happy and so is the bank.
