Hello,
New to the forum and new to Sprinter vans. I'm thinking of buying a 2002 Sprinter 3500 (not sure if its short or intermediate WB, has a 6'4" roof height I think) that needs a timing chain because a tooth apparently broke off one of the pulleys and the chain slipped off. The sellers says these are non-interference engines and all that needs to be replaced is the sprockets, tensioner, chain. Does that sound right?
*Are these really non-interference engines?
*How much should I expect to pay for needed parts if its that simple? (I'll be doing the wrenching myself).
*Anything else to look for when I go climb around under the hood and under the van?
*What would a fair price be or this van? (I know there is not a lot to go on here, but just a ballpark would help).

BTW: I plan to tow a 2700lbs race car on an open trailer with electric brakes.

Thanks
Tom
