    Default Airstream Interstate

We have an Airstream Interstate on order. We would like to hear from owners about the pros & cons of this vehicle. Also any quirks or helpful hints they have about the Interstate. Thanks! John & Ann

We bought a left over 2004 Airstream Interstate about a month ago and love it. We were able to pack things into it better than expected. I have put nearly 1600 miles on it over two short trips so far and we are very happy with it. The last tank of fuel with speeds from sightseeing stop and go to fast interstate at 73-80 MPH most of the time recorded 20.8 MPG. In addition i found performance to be very good when passing vehicles going 60-65 MPH on secondary two lane roads. The comfort is excellent and the only problem we have had is the passenger seat belt locking up and not releasing, causing the passenger to have to unbuckle and rebuckle.

We've owned the Airstream for several years now and find it to be without equal.

We've actually logged a bit over twenty-three mpg highway on long trips.

The ride is superb and it holds it's own when passed or passing larger vehicles.

If I had designed this vehicle I would have certainly designed it with a tilt steering wheel. I also agree with the previous blogger, the passager side shoulder belt does lock up sometimes, but with a bit of coaching, it will release.

As is with all motor vehicles, maintenance is the key to worry free travel.
